Field Service Representative


REPORTS TO: Manager, Service

General Summary
We are currently seeking a motivated Field Service Representative to join our Service Team. Duties include traveling to customer locations domestic and international; installing, troubleshooting, and training customers on Sono-Tek systems. While at our headquarters evaluating, repairing, and customer support would be primary responsibilities.

Qualifications
Technical Degree or similar 1-3 year work experience required

  • Technical background either experience or education
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are required. Applicant must have the ability to travel.

Requirements of the Position

  • The ability to use a methodical approach to trouble-shoot both equipment and process challenges.
  • The ability to use hand and small power tools to measure, cut, drill, tap, and punch holes in various steels and plastics.
  • The ability to conduct training to small and large groups in all aspects of our equipment and its application in a professional manner.
  • The ability to communicate technical information over the phone in a professional manner.
  • The ability to communicate technical information via email and documentation.
  • The ability to travel by air, train and automobile to customer sites efficiently and the ability to rent a car, including travel overseas. Travel commitments are usually 2 weeks a month and the position requires 50-65% travel.
  • Fiscal accountability to maintain a credit card and manage expense accounts.
  • Some heavy lifting up to forty pounds and the physical ability to get into and out of some complex capital manufacturing equipment and to work on one’s feet for many hours per day.
  • At the plant, the ability to support production and engineering as directed by management. This requires the repair of customer returns including ultrasonic nozzles,electronics, and basic machinery.
  • At the plant, the ability to authorize customer returns in a controlling database, the ability to quote prices and obtain contract authorization, and the ability to ship quality parts to our customers within the guidelines of our standards.
