Dual Syringe Dispersion Pump System
The SonoFlow Fusion liquid delivery system consists of dual alternating syringes. This unique design allows for non-stop delivery of liquid flow without interruption to refill syringes. While one syringe dispenses liquid to the ultrasonic nozzle, the second syringe refills with liquid pulled from the reservoir. SonoFlow Fusion can be configured with either Sono-Tek’s patented SonicSyringes or magnetic stirring syringes for applications dispensing suspensions that tend to agglomerate easily. Agglomerated particles are continuously broken apart using ultrasonic vibrations to deliver homogenous dispersions throughout the coating process. SonoFlow Fusion is often used in advanced energy applications such as fuel cell catalyst coating. The SonoFlow Fusion pump can be fully integrated into Sono-Tek’s FlexiCoat and ExactaCoat XYZ coating systems.

The SonoFlow continuous syringe pump system is designed specifically for applications using suspensions with particles that tend to agglomerate and fall out of suspension rapidly. SonoFlow consists of dual alternating ultrasonic syringes with a continuous recirculation loop. The system’s (2) SonicSyringe™ ultrasonic agitators create continuous ultrasonic vibrations, keeping solutions evenly dispersed during the entire coating process.
The liquid delivery capabilities of the SonoFlow Fusion are well suited to a number of applications with aqueous and solvent-based suspensions, including:
- Fuel Cell catalyst coatings
- Solar Cell nanosuspensions
- Carbon nanotubes
- Ceramic suspensions
Operating Principle: The SonicSyringe™ employs disc-shaped piezoelectric transducers located inside the syringe plunger to convert high-frequency electrical energy into mechanical energy, which is transferred into the liquid suspension.
