See Sono-Tek’s Balloon Catheter Coating Technology at BIOMEDevice

Sono-Tek is exhibiting at BIOMEDevice Dec 4-6 in San Jose, CA, booth 310. Our new balloon catheter coating system will be highlighted at BIOMEDevice. The industry’s leader in stent coating technology for over a decade, Sono-Tek is now introducing ultrasonic coating technology for balloon catheter coatings of anti-restenosis polymers. Our new drug coated balloon system, MediCoat BCC, is fitted with either MicroMist or AccuMist ultrasonic atomizing nozzles depending upon coating requirements. These nozzles are proven for atomizing drugs such as Paclitaxel, Rapamycin, Heparin and Aspirin. Sono-Tek has extensive expertise coating hundreds of polymer and stent geometry configurations, as well as and other precision medical devices. This same proven ultrasonic coating technology used in our MediCoat DES1000 and MediCoat II systems is employed in the new MediCoat BCC system. The low velocity, soft spray and uniform, micron sized droplets generated with Sono-Tek nozzle systems provide superior adherence to balloon surfaces without any overspray, cracking, or peeling of the coating. Sono-Tek’s extensive understanding of implantable stent coating has enabled us to apply this expertise in developing a system for drug coated balloons or other balloon catheters.

Sono-Tek is world renowned for supplying precision coating technology to the medical industry, providing the highest quality medical coatings available on the market for over 2 decades. Medical device manufacturers worldwide have improved their quality and throughput with Sono-Tek coating equipment, including validation documentation support.
