Ultrasonic Nozzles for Coating Catheters
Sono-Tek's ultrasonic nozzles are proven for applying uniform thin film coatings onto cardiac or urinary catheters for added lubricity, hydrophylic properties, and reduced friction, as well as altering surface morphology and applying antimicrobial or adhesive coatings.
Cardiac and urinary catheters carry risks of causing complications including bacterial infection, embolism and physical trauma such as inflammation. Sono-Tek's ultrasonic coating systems are proven for successful coating of these devices with Silicone, TeflonŽ, or other lubricious, antiseptic, hydrophilic, anti-thrombogenic or anti-encrustive coatings that can alleviate these risks through the slow release of drugs or permanent ultra-thin coatings.
