Pressure Reservoir

Pressure Reservoir - Liquid Delivery System

Sono-Tek's pressurized-reservoir liquid delivery systems are cost-effective solutions designed to be used in the most demanding ultrasonic nozzle spray applications. The liquid to be sprayed is placed in a closed reservoir and pressurized by an external source of gas (air or any other nonflammable gas). The gas pressure provides the driving mechanism that forces the liquid out of the reservoir and into the line supplying the nozzle.

When flow rates or dispense volumes must be carefully controlled, and where a highly reliable yet simple approach to liquid delivery is required, pressurized-reservoir systems offer these advantages:

  • Resistance to solids-bearing, corrosive, or abrasive materials
  • Compatibility with both continuous and one-shot operation
  • Simplicity - no moving parts or complex controls

Features:

  • 1-liter, 1-gallon,and 3-gallon capacities Flow meter* with integrated metering valve Integrated inlet gas pressure regulator/ filter/moisture trap Low-pressure regulator and gauge for reservoir pressure control Liquid shutoff valve
  • Safety pressure-relief valve

* Flow meter supplied with the 1- and 3-gallon reservoirs only

Operating Principle

Operating Principle

Operating Principle The gas pressure exerted on the liquid within the closed reservoir is the primary factor in determining flow rate and flow rate range. A pressure regulator, rated at 0 -10 psi (0 - 70 kPa) output, is located in the input gas line. It provides the first level of flow rate control. Typically, pressures on the order of 1- 5 psi (7 - 35 kPa) are suitable. On the liquid outlet line, additional flow control is available through a needle-type metering valve. This valve is used to fine tune the flow rate over the range set by the regulator. A positive shutoff valve is located in the liquid outlet line beyond the metering valve. This valve serves as the master flow on/off mechanism. For continuous flow applications, the shutoff valve is usually manually operated. For single-shot operation, the electronically-operated solenoid valve option is required. Other components of the system include a gas filter/moisture trap on the gas inlet, a gas pressure gauge, and a flow meter.
